Women’s Group Helps Make Blankets For Kids

The Women of the Western Communities gathered Thursday, Nov. 7 at Wellington National Golf Club. After a traditional Thanksgiving buffet, Allyson Samiljan told the group what being on the TV show “Jeopardy!” was really like. Women’s Group Hears From New YWCA CEO

The Women of the Western Communities gathered on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Wellington National Golf Club. Dr. Kathleen Spears, new CEO of the local YWCA, was the guest speaker. She discussed the services available for abused women and children through Harmony House. The next meeting on Nov. 7 will accept food donations for Thanksgiving baskets. The Women of the Western Communities held its first meeting of the 2019-20 season on Thursday, Sept. 5 at the Wellington National Golf Club. Each member told something about themselves in a brief “get-to-know-you” speech. Donations of back-to-school items were collected for Harmony House. Women’s Group Presents Annual Scholarships

The Women of the Western Communities gathered Thursday, June 6 at the Wellington National Golf Club for a program that included awarding scholarships to six local seniors. ‘Pretty In Pink’ Spring Brunch & Fashion Show

Women of the Western Communities held its annual fundraiser “Pretty in Pink” Spring Brunch & Fashion Show on Sunday, April 7 at the Wellington National Golf Club. Funds raised benefit the Mary Rubloff YWCA Harmony House and Women of the Western Communities scholarships. KOOL 105.5 Morning Show Hosts Mo Foster and Sally Sevareid once again emceed this event, and Stein Mart provided fashions and accessories.

Komen Visits Women Of The Western Communities

Fire Safety Specialist Visits With Women’s Group

The Women of the Western Communities held its monthly meeting on Thursday, Feb. 7 at the Wellington National Golf Club. Paper hearts were pinned to members’ backs and other members wrote a note on it. PBCFR Fire Safety Specialist Jeff Heinz demonstrated hands-only CPR on an adult and an infant. Also, the Heimlich Maneuver was demonstrated.
